A streaming event, a scan result, and an alert are different

In Trade Ideas, an Alert Window records events as they happen; a Top List shows stocks currently meeting filters. Its AI Assistant can configure those windows, while Holly AI Signals supplies trade setups and requires Premium. AI assistance with configuration is not the same feature as AI trade signals.

TradingView Pine Screener applies an indicator to a watchlist or index. Its documented limits include one indicator per screen, 500 calculation bars, supported timeframes, and up to five separate data requests. It does not accept strategy scripts. A scan result also does not create a cloud alert: configure the required alert separately and check plan limits.

For example, scanning for stocks above a moving average finds a current state. Alerting when price crosses that average detects a transition. Specify the universe, session, timeframe, volume definition, and whether a bar must close before comparing results. A similarly named filter need not implement the same rule in both products.

Check coverage and timing before comparing speed

TradingView uses Cboe US stock data by default; primary-exchange subscriptions can change price and volume coverage. Trade Ideas includes real-time data in its paid plans. Neither a refresh interval nor a real-time label establishes end-to-end alert latency. We have not run a synchronized latency benchmark.

  1. Use the same symbols, exchange entitlements, session, and written rule in both products.
  2. Record the market-event timestamp, scanner display time, and notification receipt time separately, with synchronized clocks.
  3. Repeat during quiet and busy sessions. Record missed events and feed differences alongside delays, rather than treating every mismatch as latency.
  4. Compare the total subscription, exchange-data, and broker costs for that exact configuration.

This is an evaluation procedure, not a reported performance test. Backtests and paper trades also do not establish live fill quality.

Decision guide

Pick the workflow you will actually use

Choose Trade Ideas for scanner-first day trading

Trade Ideas fits traders who want a dense, continuously updating US stock scanner, many event filters, and Holly or other AI strategy signals inside one desktop workflow.

  • US stock momentum and event scanning is the main job.
  • You want prebuilt scans plus deep filter control.
  • Brokerage Plus and simulated trading matter to your routine.

Choose TradingView for chart-first research

TradingView fits traders who move across asset classes, rely on charts on several devices, or need custom indicators and strategies written in Pine Script.

  • Charts, drawings, and cross-asset coverage come first.
  • You need web, desktop, and mobile access.
  • Custom Pine Script logic and script alerts are part of the workflow.

Use both when discovery and analysis are separate

A practical combined workflow is to discover a US stock in Trade Ideas, inspect the setup in TradingView, then test explicit entry and exit rules with Pine Script.

  • Trade Ideas narrows the market to a candidate.
  • TradingView provides the chart and testing environment.
  • Your written rules decide whether the setup is repeatable.

Compare the total cost of your workflow

TradingView Essential has a lower listed subscription price than Trade Ideas Standard. That does not make their included tools equivalent. Budget for the required scanner, alert limits, data subscriptions, and broker costs.

Prices below were displayed on the official US pricing pages on October 16, 2026. Promotions, taxes, professional status, and market-data fees can change the amount you pay.

Where Pineify fits

Turn a TradingView rule into editable Pine Script

Pineify does not replace Trade Ideas scanning or TradingView charting. Pine Script AI Coding Agent fits after you can state the indicator or strategy rule you want to test. It generates Pine Script for TradingView, where you review the logic, compile it, and run the appropriate simulation or alert.

For an existing symbol list, Market Screener compares supported stocks, crypto assets, and ETFs with available technical fields. Check its supported symbols and fields before using it for your scan; it does not reproduce Trade Ideas event scanning or Holly signals.

Generated code still needs human review and platform testing. A valid script does not guarantee a profitable strategy.

  • Describe an indicator or strategy rule in plain language.
  • Add explicit alert conditions for the TradingView workflow.
  • Review and test the generated code inside TradingView.
